The central bank of Singapore is the Monetary Authority of Singapore, responsible for issuing currency. The Singapore dollar was exchangeable at par with the Malaysian ringgit until 1973. Interchangeability with the Brunei dollar is still maintained. Brunei dollar notes are accepted in Singapore.
